Business Coach For Sydney Owners — Honestly Explained
Melbourne based, in Sydney regularly. Onsite when I’m up, video in between, same flat fee.

I’m Not A Sydney Business Coach. Here’s The Deal.
Plenty of coaching websites list a Sydney address that turns out to be a serviced office someone visits twice a year. I’m not going to do that, because the whole point of this brand is not doing that.
I’m Rob Ade and I’m based in Melbourne. I have no Sydney office and no Sydney address. What I do have is a long-standing habit of being in Sydney regularly for client work, and Sydney owners who have worked with me for years on exactly that basis.
So the honest offer is this: face-to-face sessions at your business whenever I’m up, video sessions in between to keep the fortnightly rhythm, and the same 24/7 access as every other client. No travel charges, ever — my fee is the same flat monthly figure whether you’re in Cremorne, Parramatta or five minutes from my office in Melbourne.
If having someone in the room every single fortnight without exception is non-negotiable for you, hire a Sydney-based coach. That is the right call and I’ll say so on the phone. If what you actually want is the right operator rather than the closest one, keep reading.

How A Sydney Engagement Actually Works
- 1
Free 30-minute call
We talk about the business and I tell you honestly whether the visiting model suits you. If it doesn’t, I’ll say so rather than sign you up.
- 2
First session in person
I schedule the first proper session for a Sydney trip and we do it onsite. I want to walk through your business, meet your people and see how it runs before I give you an opinion on it.
- 3
Fortnightly rhythm, mixed delivery
We keep the same every-two-weeks cadence. Sessions land onsite when I’m in town and by video the rest of the time. Either way it’s locked into both calendars.
- 4
The trip schedule is shared, not secret
You’ll know when I’m next in Sydney. Clients tend to save the meatier work — team sessions, walkthroughs, difficult conversations — for those visits.
- 5
24/7 access between everything
The distance changes nothing here. When something lands at 9pm, you call. Interstate clients often use this more than local ones.
- 6
Same flat fee, no travel billed
One monthly figure, no lock-in contract, no mileage, no flights on your invoice. Cancel whenever the value stops.

The honest bit
Does Coaching By Video Actually Work?
Mostly, yes — with one honest caveat. The strategy work, the numbers, the pricing, the accountability and the hard conversations all travel perfectly well down a video call. Some clients concentrate better on video because there is no small talk and no site tour eating the first twenty minutes.
What doesn’t travel is atmosphere. I pick up a lot from watching how your team answers the phone, how the workshop is laid out, who goes quiet when you walk in. That is why the in-person visits matter and why I front-load them at the start of an engagement.
The practical answer is to use each for what it’s good at: onsite for observation, team work and anything requiring a whiteboard and a long lunch; video for the fortnightly discipline that keeps things moving. If your business is fully remote anyway, the visits matter less and you may not need them at all.
The rest of the model is identical to the Melbourne business coaching engagement — same six pillars, same guarantee, same fee structure.
Who this suits
Sydney Businesses This Works Well For
- Owner-managed businesses from a few staff up to around twenty, where the owner can make a decision without a board
- Trade, transport and services businesses — see coaching built for tradies for how that work runs
- E-commerce and online businesses where I can be genuinely useful on both SEO and digital marketing and operations
- IT, managed services and technology businesses — I built and sold one, so there is very little in that model I haven’t seen
- Owners who already have a bookkeeper and an accountant and need something none of them provide: an operator’s judgement
- Anyone who has been burned by a coach on a twelve-month contract and wants to read the guarantee before they talk to another one

What Business Owners Say About Rob
Roberts service is exceptional; not good, EXCEPTIONAL when it comes to action and communication. He created a new website for me and although I will not know for a little while if it does everything we want, I am convinced and believe it will. No BS with Robert is accurate and I look forward to having Robert work on more projects into the future. Thank you Robert.
The best! Rob commits to what he says and really is the No BS coach a business needs. Always finding and encouraging new technologies, a great soundboard and motivator to push ahead. Would highly recommend Rob to anyone who needs to step into the next stage of business.
I’ve worked with Rob across several of my businesses over the years, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s one of the true pioneers of the SEO industry, having been involved since the early days of websites and search engine optimisation. That depth of experience really shows in the results he delivers. Rob has helped improve the Google rankings and overall search engine visibility for multiple companies I’ve owned, leading to increased traffic, stronger online presence, and more enquiries. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, stays passionate about what he does, and is always focused on achieving long-term, sustainable results rather than quick fixes.
Next steps
Start With A Call, Not A Commitment
The free 30-minute call costs you nothing and there is no follow-up sequence waiting for you afterwards. Tell me where the business is, what you’ve already tried, and what you want to be true in twelve months.
I’ll tell you whether I can help, roughly where I’d start, when I’m next in Sydney, and what the flat monthly fee would be. If the honest answer is that you need someone local every fortnight without exception, you’ll hear that too — it happens and I don’t lose sleep over it.
If you want to compare the options first, the small business coaching page covers the service in full, the business mentor page explains why I mentor rather than coach, and the business coaching cost page sets out exactly what the fee replaces.

Sydney Business Coaching Questions, Answered
Are you actually based in Sydney?
No. I’m based in Melbourne at Level 35, 477 Collins Street, and I don’t keep a Sydney office or a Sydney address.
I travel to Sydney regularly for client work, so Sydney owners get face-to-face sessions during those trips and video sessions in between. I’d rather tell you that up front than dress it up.
How often are you in Sydney?
Regularly, and the schedule is driven by client demand rather than a fixed roster. On the free call I’ll tell you when I’m next up and how the trips have been running.
The more Sydney clients on the books, the more often I’m there — and existing clients get first pick of the diary on each trip.
Do Sydney clients pay extra for travel?
Never. There are no flights, no accommodation and no travel time on your invoice, and there is no interstate loading on the fee.
You pay the same flat monthly figure as a client five minutes from my Melbourne office. That has been the policy since day one.
How do you keep the fortnightly rhythm from slipping interstate?
The same way I do locally — the session goes into both calendars and it does not get bumped. Only the delivery changes: onsite when I’m in Sydney, video when I’m not.
The discipline is the point. Coaching stops working the moment sessions start getting rescheduled, and interstate is not an excuse for that.
Have you actually coached businesses in Sydney before?
Yes. I’ve been coaching since 2006 and I’ve been travelling to Sydney and Brisbane for client work throughout, across industries including IT, logistics, transport, recruitment, real estate and e-commerce.
The full sector list is on the industries page, and client feedback is on the reviews page.
What if I want you onsite more often than your trips allow?
Say so on the call. Sometimes it can be arranged around the existing schedule, and sometimes the honest answer is that a Sydney-based coach will serve you better.
I’d rather tell you that in the first thirty minutes than take a fee for eighteen months and leave you feeling short-changed.
Do you work with businesses in Western Sydney and the outer suburbs?
Yes — when I’m in Sydney I come to you, wherever your business actually is. Nothing about the fee or the format changes based on which side of the city you’re on.
Video sessions between visits make the geography largely irrelevant, which is one genuine advantage of the visiting model.
Can I start now and switch to onsite when you’re next up?
That is how most Sydney engagements begin. We start on video straight away so you’re not waiting weeks to get moving, then the first onsite session lands on the next trip.
There’s no contract either way, so if the format doesn’t suit you after a month or two you simply stop.
