What Business Coaching Costs — And What It Replaces
One flat monthly fee. No travel charges, no surprise invoices, no lock-in contract.

Why You Can’t Just Google A Price
Business coaching in Australia is sold in wildly different shapes — group programmes, monthly video calls, twelve-month packages, hourly consulting — so a single published price would be meaningless. What one coach calls a monthly fee buys an hour on Zoom. What another calls a monthly fee buys a fortnightly onsite session and somebody who answers the phone at 10pm.
My pricing is one flat monthly figure, quoted on the free 30-minute call once I understand what you actually need. I’m not going to invent a number on a web page for a business I haven’t looked at — that’s exactly the kind of thing this brand exists to call out.
What I will do is be completely clear about the structure. One fee, every month, the same amount. It covers the fortnightly onsite session, unlimited contact in between, and guidance across all six pillars. There is no travel charge, no setup fee, no “strategy day” upsell, no lock-in contract and no exit fee. If the value stops, you cancel — the terms are on my guarantee page.
The more useful question isn’t “what does a business coach cost?” It’s “what am I currently paying other people to do, and what does this replace?” That is where the maths gets interesting.

What Owners Typically Pay For The Pieces
Most owners I meet are already paying for two or three of the rows below, usually to different suppliers who never speak to each other. Ranges vary enormously by city, seniority and scope, so treat the middle column as market context to check your own invoices against — not as a quote from anyone.
| Bought separately | Typical market rates | Covered by Rob’s flat fee |
|---|---|---|
| Business coach or mentor | Monthly retainer, commonly four figures | Yes — fortnightly onsite plus 24/7 access |
| SEO or digital marketing agency | Monthly retainer, commonly four figures | Yes — strategy, oversight and agency review |
| IT or business systems consultant | Hourly or project rates, or a monthly retainer | Yes — systems, automation and vendor review |
| Cyber security consultant | Hourly or project rates | Yes — practical baseline protection |
| HR consultant | Hourly rates, or a monthly retainer | Guidance, plus access to my vetted HR partners |
Documented results
The Only Numbers I’ll Put A Figure On
I’m not going to publish an average ROI, because it would be invented. What I can give you are two documented client outcomes.
One client was paying $5,000 a month for digital marketing. Once we worked out what was actually being delivered for that retainer and what could be brought back in-house or renegotiated, the same result came back for $1,250 a month. That is $3,750 a month recovered — $45,000 a year — from one review.
Another client was spending $3,500 a month on IT. After we reviewed the contracts, the licensing and what they were genuinely using, the spend came down to $500 a month. I ran a managed services provider for fifteen years, so I know exactly what is in those invoices and which line items are padding.
A third: staff retention on one role went from six weeks to more than twelve months. Put your own recruitment and re-training cost against that and you’ll get a bigger number than either of the savings above. Detail on how that work is done sits in the culture pillar and the IT systems pillar.
Those are three clients, not a guarantee. But they show why the honest way to assess the fee is against what you’re already spending — not against zero.
What moves the number
What Determines Your Monthly Fee
There are no tiers or packages, but the number isn’t the same for everyone. These are the things I weigh up on the call.
- Size and complexity. A sole operator and a business with twenty staff, three locations and a leadership team are not the same job.
- How much of the six pillars you need. Some clients want coaching only. Others want me across their marketing spend, IT and cyber security as well.
- Session frequency and travel. Fortnightly is standard. Travel itself is never charged, wherever you are.
- Whether the team is involved. Working with your managers as well as you takes more time.
- How urgent it is. A business in genuine trouble needs more of me in the first couple of months.
- What it isn’t based on. Not a percentage of your revenue, not a share of the savings, and not what I think you can afford.

What Clients Say About The Value
Roberts service is exceptional; not good, EXCEPTIONAL when it comes to action and communication. He created a new website for me and although I will not know for a little while if it does everything we want, I am convinced and believe it will. No BS with Robert is accurate and I look forward to having Robert work on more projects into the future. Thank you Robert.
The best! Rob commits to what he says and really is the No BS coach a business needs. Always finding and encouraging new technologies, a great soundboard and motivator to push ahead. Would highly recommend Rob to anyone who needs to step into the next stage of business.
I’ve worked with Rob across several of my businesses over the years, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s one of the true pioneers of the SEO industry, having been involved since the early days of websites and search engine optimisation. That depth of experience really shows in the results he delivers. Rob has helped improve the Google rankings and overall search engine visibility for multiple companies I’ve owned, leading to increased traffic, stronger online presence, and more enquiries. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, stays passionate about what he does, and is always focused on achieving long-term, sustainable results rather than quick fixes.
Cheaper options
If One-On-One Coaching Isn’t In Budget Yet
I’d rather send you somewhere useful than sign you up to something the business can’t carry. The Business Networking Club gives you direct mentorship, monthly meetups, expert sessions on law, HR, cyber and marketing, and access to my vetted rolodex at a fraction of one-on-one pricing.
There’s also a genuinely free SEO website audit and a free SEO Chrome extension if your website is the thing costing you money right now.
And whichever of the coaching pages brought you here — small business coaching, tradie coaching or executive coaching — the fee structure is the same one flat monthly figure. The scope changes, the honesty doesn’t.

Business Coaching Cost Questions, Answered
How much does business coaching cost in Australia?
It varies enormously because “business coaching” covers everything from a group programme with a few dozen people on a webinar to a senior operator sitting in your office every fortnight.
The number matters far less than what sits behind it. Before comparing prices, compare what is actually included: how often you meet, whether it’s in person, whether you can contact them between sessions, and whether you are locked into a term.
What do you charge?
One flat monthly fee, quoted on your free 30-minute call once I understand the business. It doesn’t change month to month and it doesn’t come with add-ons.
I quote after the conversation rather than before it because the honest number depends on the size of the business and how much of the six pillars you want me across.
Why won’t you publish your price on the website?
Because a published number would either be too high for a sole operator or too low for a twenty-staff business, and both of those are a form of bullshit.
What I will commit to publicly: one fee, no travel charges, no setup fee, no upsells, no lock-in contract and no exit fee. You’ll have the actual number within thirty minutes of picking up the phone.
Are there setup fees, travel charges or extras?
No. No onboarding fee, no diagnostic fee, no charge for travel time or mileage, and no premium for calling me outside business hours.
If I bring in a third party from my rolodex — a lawyer, an HR specialist, a developer — you deal with them directly and I take no commission on it.
How do I know coaching will pay for itself?
You don’t, on day one. What you can do is check the maths against what you’re already spending: marketing retainers, IT contracts, recruitment costs and the jobs you’ve been underpricing.
In documented cases that has meant digital marketing dropping from $5,000 to $1,250 a month and IT dropping from $3,500 to $500 a month. And because there’s no contract, if it isn’t paying for itself you stop.
Do you charge more for larger businesses?
Generally yes, because a larger business takes more time — more people, more moving parts, often work with the leadership team as well as the owner.
It is never a percentage of revenue and never a share of the savings. It is a flat figure based on the work involved.
Can I cancel if the value isn’t there?
Any time, with no exit fee and no notice period buried in fine print. That is the point of not using contracts.
It also means I have to earn the fee again every single month, which is a far better incentive than a twelve-month lock-in.
Is there a minimum term or a package I have to buy?
No minimum term, no packages, no tiers and no twelve-month commitment. You pay monthly and you can stop at the end of any month.
There is also no obligation attached to the free 30-minute call — plenty of people have that conversation and decide the timing is wrong, which is a perfectly good outcome.
